time for some cuteness words: 618 | Well...today was certainly a busy day.... After completing his usual morning routine, all the while dodging the ever excitable Pochi, Kiku discovered to his dismay he was low on just about everything. With a sigh, he slipped on some more layers and headed out for the nearest store. He still had time before he was expecting students at the dojo so he'd be fine, right? Oh how wrong of an assumption that was. Not only was the store somehow out of rice (and why were they out anyway? Rice should not've been something sought out here in Russia, right?) but the store had also apparently gone under some rearranging since the last time he visited. With a growing annoyance spanning the next hour and a half or so, Kiku scoured the store for all the new placements because kami forbid he lower his pride enough to ask for help. Muttering under his breath in his native language, he hurried over to the cashier upon finding everything he needed. And with everything paid for, it was then time to head back. Oh boy. Pochi and Tama are of course dear to his heart but damn do they eat. And go figure, both of their food supplies had to run low on the same day. So with the large bags of pet food hoisted up onto his shoulder and the multitude of your standard grocery bags all bunched up in the remaining free hand, it would be quite a trek home. And running back was out of the question lest he inadvertently lose the precious food he had just purchased. Therefore, with a brisk power walk, Kiku prayed he'd make it back with enough time to put everything away and set up for the day's classes. And thankfully, he did but looking at the current time, he knew he'd have to rush. So sticking perishables away as soon as possible and leaving everything else for when he had a break, Kiku made his way downstairs to pull everything he needed for the first class out from the back room. With just enough time to change into his hakama, he watched as people of all ages entered, some of the regulars already changing into uniforms while others looked on with curiosity. 'More people than usual, it seems. Alright then.' He usually didn't require people come every time, only when they had the time to stop by. Therefore, he only started charging for lessons after a person's first visit and as a day by day fee as opposed to one single payment for the month. Easier to manage that way. Instructing the regulars to prepare the dojo space, Kiku used this time to approach the new faces and introduce them to the dojo and the behaviorial customs. Once everything was ready, he began the first class of the day. As it turned out, today was filled with new individuals, curious about the foreign dojo. In every following class, there was always a few new individuals he encountered and as much as he appreciated the influx of interest, it also kept his already busy day that much busier. Therefore, when almost all his scheduled classes had ended and he finally had a chance for a longer break, it was greatly appreciated. Briefly returning to his upstairs apartment, he heated up some water and prepared himself tea before heading back down to the backroom and seating himself there, door open so he could wait for his last class. A request for a private lesson with another new face. Now the question was, would this new student stop by? Kiku quietly sipped his tea as he waited to find out. hidden sympathy |
