These are supplemental questions, please refer to these posts for more in-depth information on the setting and plot of the site.
Q: If our character is a mutant, do we give them powers?
A: Of course! What makes a mutant "different" than a human, beyond the generally unseen mutations in their blood, are the extraordinary abilities they have! However, all powers must come with physical or mental repercussions upon the mutant themselves. Some powers may be considered to OP to be adequately controlled; those kinds of mutants would probably be put down or trapped in a laboratory for their entire lives. We will tell you what is acceptable or not, as is necessary.
Q: Will we be able to play out the history we've written for our character?
A: Yes, we have a section dedicated for that! So, if your character is a mutant, you're able to thread their time in the school, go further into their experiences there, and have them learn to control their powers/abilities! If the character is a human, you're able to play out any major event in their history while residing in Archadia City.
Q: If our character is a human, do we have to have them be against what the government is doing?
A: Of course not. Most humans and mutants alike are actually pro-government, due to propaganda pertaining to mutant intelligence, intent, physical makeup (status as a mutation of human genetics), etc. It's actually considered strange to be "pro-mutant", and depending on your character's actions may result in serious trouble!
Q: Are genderbents or 2!P's allowed?
A: The only time we will accept a 'genderbent' or 2P character is if it's set up as one of the capitols, as they are not canon characters and have no canon sex. Therefore, if someone takes an OC nation character, such as Scotland being male, the only way to play "fem!Scotland" or "2P!Scotland" would be to take the character "Edinburgh", if it is available. If someone has already made an OC of a capital, then unfortunately you are out of luck. However: legitimate genderbends and 2P characters will be critiqued a bit more harshly than normal OCs or canon characters.
Q: Whaaat? But that limits a lot of characters, and it's not fair to be more critical of genderbents/2!Ps.
A: There are several reasons for the regulations on genderbents and 2!Ps. We want to diversify the characters taken on the site, rather than have several versions of the same Euro-centric, Allies and/or Axis-centric characters. This way, we are hopefully going to see many more canon and OC characters taken beyond the 'fan favorites'. The reason we will be more critical of genderbents and 2!Ps is because we want people to put thought into their characters. In particular of the nyotalia characters, they are separate, distinct beings from their 'canon' counterparts, and we want that shown more than just 'XXX character, but with "opposite" genitalia!' or 'XXX character, but with XXX reasons that make them more violent/cruel/timid/weak than their canon counterpart'. We apologize for any problems this may cause, but these are the rules and we will not be changing them at this time.
Q: How many mutants are the rich allowed to have?
A: We allow a maximum of two mutant characters to one human character, regardless of contract status (limited or permanent).
Q: What about Ancients? Can they be played?
A: Ancients and other "dead" nations are allowed, both canon and OC (though for OCs please make sure that you are using a legitimate ancient civilization with evidence to back it up before registering) due to the site's status as an AU.
Q: How many characters are we allowed to have?
A: This is stated in our rules as well, however, each mun is allowed a total of four characters. Two canon, and two OC, one OC must be a capitol. The requirements in attaining another character is also stated within the rules.
Q: What can mutants do with their money?
A: Every time your mutant is purchased from the Underground, 50% of their earnings will go straight to their current owner's bank account to provide for all their daily needs such as medicine, check ups, and clothing. Doesn't that sound exciting? We sure hope so, because despite the fact your owner gains it in the end, you're the one's working hard to ensure how comfortable life is depending on your fortune in who happens to purchase you. Otherwise, though, mutants can do nothing with the "money" Muns earn through posts.
Q: What can humans do with their money?
A: Much more than mutants, to be honest. What fines a person may earn for illegal activity are deducted from your "money" count. The cost of a mutant(s) is deducted upon purchase of a mutant, while the stated above action of half a mutant's money being added to their accounts afterwards. Any earned money in events is added to human's total, and any costs to owning a mutant are deducted. Mutant costs include: $100 for newly chipping a mutant, $50 for updating a mutant's chip with new owner's information, $400 for being caught not chipping your mutant, $5-$15 for customized tags, etc. The way to go about these costs is to either actively thread them on-site, mention these activities in a post, or inform an admin/mod that these things happened but you didn't have time/plots to cover them. If you go an entire contract without doing one these three things, fines will be applied to your account.
Q: Can mutants have children?
A: Mutants cannot have children. The latest research has proven that all mutants, regardless of sex, are legitimately sterile.
Q: Are mutants allowed to wander the city?
A: Only if they are contracted by a human or the government. Otherwise, all mutants over the age of 18 are confined either to the Underground while those 17 or under are stationed at Weeds Academy. However, only government-contracted mutants may wander 'without supervision' of an accompanying human, and are still required to carry visible identification of their status. Allowing your mutant to wander unsupervised will result in a fine, repeated offenses may result in a short prison stay and/or temporary loss of privilege of purchasing and owning mutants.
(Will be edited as more questions, both in-site and OOC, are presented to the admins. Feel free to ask away!)
