"I'm a hungry spider and you're a beautiful butterfly"
MADE BY ★MEULK OF GS | The city of Arcadia was a mess.
When Ren first received the message about missing mutants, he was a ball of mixed and repressed emotions. Anger, irritation, nervousness; all out stress overall was what pretty much summarized his situation regarding it. He was of course immediately ordered by the governor to hold the little princess' hand and guide her through the messes that were created due to the little mishap on their end. Needless to say, Ren was far from excited to do so. He didn't bother arguing, seeing there was no use to do so (keeping mutants under control was his job, in the end that was the case and no arguments would've been valid to override that), but that didn't mean he ordered a few of his case workers and rookie cops to run around like headless chickens in the streets of Arcadia searching for runaway mutants with limited gear.
The Japanese man on the other hand, before he too sent himself on a wild goose chase of runaways, knew he needed to speak to someone first. The very 'princess' that stacked a huge job on top of what he was already having to manage, with freedom fighters going loose and possibly growing in number of members. Who knew who were enemies and who were trustworthy allies? At the time it was too dangerous to randomly be making friends, honestly. Ren's job had been mainly focusing on that and possible existence of street mutants, that he didn't need this extra pile of work to be dumped on his desk. And it wasn't just one or two mutants; it was a whole section in the underground.
Files given to him were mainly profiles of the runaway mutants, ones that went missing from the block after the incident. There had to be a good fifty of them or so, and as much as Ren loved his job, he didn't have the patience to look through every profile. So instead, he made them all into one flip book with copies of the pages, and was asking random civilians on the streets for possible information. With that, he was able to send a few back into their cells, but there were far too many for his liking still out there, ticking bombs ready to harm the innocent bystanders.
Ren headed for the underground, opening the main entrance to see the guards straighten themselves up seeing him. The Japanese man simply glared at them before he excused himself without a word for the main office, giving the door a few polite knocks before letting himself come in without waiting for a response. Of course, he found little princess there, that face just as filled as his with anger and stress.
"Stressed out, Miss?" He asked, not bothering to hide the mocking anger in his own voice, "Mind telling me exactly what is going on here?"

INFINITY (n.) the state of being limitless Elizaveta was screwed.
Foolish, foolish. Elizaveta cursed the careless government, the incompetent guards, the lacking funds, the inadequate repairs. But more than anything, she cursed herself. How could she not have foreseen this? The Underground was a shithole, this much was true. Repairs could never be done as fast as they needed to be, and of course the mutants had taken advantage of that very fact. Her guards were actually terrified and working for once, but no amount of damage control could soothe the situation.
Right now she was having someone combing through the tapes, trying to figure out exactly which mutant had released the others. They knew for certain that the flooding had been the original cause, but someone had had to have opened the locks of the other cells for the entire section to escape. All the guards were accounted for, which meant it had to be a mutant. Elizaveta examined her checkbook. She needed to hire more people; to have competent guards out on the streets dealing with the situation while simultaneously keeping the rest of the mutants at bay. Equipment had to be on spot and they had to send out search parties immediately. They needed to suppress the information as well. None of the other mutants could find out that this security breach had occurred or they might end up with a full scale rebellion on their hands.
Elizaveta gritted her teeth at the thought. Her mother had phoned her earlier, that condescending, disappointed tone filling her office as if Elizaveta was a child. There was concealed anger in there too (Elizaveta's old scar ached a little at that), and a thinly veiled threat at the end. Elizaveta needed to resolve the situation immediately or Archadia would fall into further chaos.
Then came three quick knocks on her door. Elizaveta was about to yell at whoever it was to go away—hadn't she told the guards not to let anyone in?—when the door opened anyways to Ren Kondou.
Ren fucking Kondou.
Elizaveta pressed her lips together in distaste.
She did not need this right now.
Elizaveta did not need to hear Ren speak to know that the man was pissed. He did nothing to hide the fact either, his polite words laced with anger and
Elizaveta knew—oh she knew—that Ren was here for her mother. Partially for himself too (his job was just as much at stake), but mostly for her mother.
"Oh, I don't know, Ren," Elizaveta replied icily to his words. "It may possibly be the fact that a section of my mutants are running the streets after a facility breakdown. Mind saying hello to my mother as you see yourself out?" | words 448 tags notes has anyone ever been far as decided to use even go want to do look more like? |
