"I'm a hungry spider and you're a beautiful butterfly"
☒ | @egyptiangod | ✐ | 537 | ✉ | Oh, and those records, too. |
MADE BY ★MEULK OF GS |
One by one, the man took steps slowly as he calmly headed down the familiar streets, one he often walked down on his days off. Today was one of those lucky days; with the recent incidents it was rather surprising that they still provided a day off for the hard working Asian. He was always the one to be called on duty when regarding the mutants, whether it was one getting out of control in the middle of the streets or having to check in the underground to see if the mutants were well cared for there, or even checking up on the government owned ones, it was always him. Honestly, the job kept him busy, which was much better than sitting in a chair all day with nothing to do, so he wasn’t complaining, but he was beginning to hope for a little helper or assistant that could help him out.
And sadly, even on his day off to be honest, he couldn’t help but to want to take care of things he couldn’t when he was on duty by being stuck on call or running around. Some jobs that were in no rush were pushed to the side in hopes he can later get to them, and weeks pass before he get the opportunity to do so. And even so, most times he would do them on his days off as such of this very day. Today was to check the records to the chipped mutants in the town to get the updated form, as he should’ve done 5 weeks ago to be quite honest. Hah, he hated having to always be one step late to simple tasks as such. And while he was on it, he wanted to also get an older shepherd, if one was available. Not too young of a puppy—He needed to be immediately trainable. He asked the government for a police dog, but all they could offer were mutants, and that just wasn’t want the man wanted. He wanted a classic police dog as one would see a while back in the older movies.
When he said that, he was told to go and get a dog at the store, then, because they didn’t breed dogs for such use any longer commonly.
Once he reached the very building he was heading to, Ren didn’t take a second to hesitate to open the door and walk in, holding his head up high but in his common shirt and pants, nothing fancy like his common uniform or a suit. No, this was a pet store. No need to be fancy. The noise of puppies barking and kittens meowing for attention were heard as soon as he walked in, and he couldn’t help but to feel his lip twitch slightly in the corner to arch upwards. Who couldn’t smile at the sight of small animals? Sure Ren wasn’t one big animal fan, but he wasn’t heartless.
”Gupta,” he called, walking deeper into the nicely decorated store, eyeing the beagle puppy in one of the nicely kept glass cases, ”I’m sorry I’m late… Do you think you can get the chipping records printed and sealed right away, or will it take some time?”

Word Count: 615 Notes: Haha finally Over the last few years of working for the government when it came to chipping the mutants Gupta seemed to begin to notice patterns when it came to seeing Ren, his friend and the man often in charge of policing mutants. Without notice the man always seemed to appear around the same time each month to collect the new paperwork for each mutant that had been chipped. It was curious that it seemed to always be around the second week of the month but Gupta never questioned if Ren meant to do this or not. How the two became friends Gupta believe was something he could accredit the government for as he probably would have been a bit too shy when it came to even being in the same room as such an intimidating male but over time they began to talk or run into each other due to their jobs. It wasn’t often that Gupta felt he needed to call someone to aid him in restraining mutants for receiving a chip but it seemed that even without having to be called or asked Ren would be there to aid Gupta with any difficult mutants. Ren seemed to always know if a mutant would actually attempt to harm the calm animal lover from dealing with most before they ever reached the pet store or Gupta entered the underground to administer the chip. During his entire life Gupta wasn’t sure he ever had someone that wasn’t his mother who seemed to look out him in such a manner but he never had many friends during his youth. Dance kept him away from the other children more than his mother probably liked but it was hard to grow close to children that never understood his passion. A small chime told Gupta someone had entered the shop. The bag on his shoulder prevented Gupta from being able to look to see who his guest was but the soft voice answered the question. Setting the bag on a self Gupta moved from behind one of the shelves to greet the man with a small bow of his head. “I already printed them, give me a second to fetch them from my office.”While it was still early in the day Gupta already found himself exhausted from working the night before in order to apply for a job that would allow him to dance. Not many worked at the shop with him causing him to have to work this day alone after receiving little sleep. Walking off to his office Gupta carefully grabbed the envelope that held all the records he was required to give to Ren. Occasionally, when Gupta felt generous, he would put notes of some of the records simply for the Asian to look over. The notes varied from who was obedient and might interest Ren to mutants that showed more will to attempt an escape meaning they needed to be watched carefully in order to prevent them from escaping. Ren was often busy so Gupta did wish to aid his friend when able, he needed a day off himself making him sure Ren could use one even more. Handing over the envelope Gupta have a polite smile, the only hint of any friendship between the two. “I was concerned you might have forgotten this month. Next time you’re behind on things just call and I can deliver them to you.” Gupta didn’t agree with Ren on how mutants were to be treated but that didn’t mean they couldn’t be civil outside that matter. “As I told you before you’re welcome to pet any of the animals. Most of them here have been trained enough to behave.” made by MISSO for use only by DEE

"I'm a hungry spider and you're a beautiful butterfly"
☒ | @egyptiangod | ✐ | 429 | ✉ | This is so late >W<; Gimme a black shepherd! |
MADE BY ★MEULK OF GS | Ren was still looking at the puppies when Gupta told him that the files were already good to go, acknowledging his words with a thankful nod. He could always count on him; it was nice to simply know that he didn't have to do everything on his own. As much as Ren enjoyed his job, the status and hard labor all together, he knew he couldn't do everything on his own. He was a single man, not some ameba that could separate and do different tasks at the same time in various locations.
These past few weeks especially had been extra busy for the Japanese man, seeing there were problems arising all over with mutants in general. The missing fire mutant, the street roaming rogues, and to top it all off, there was the grand escape from the underground. Really, he would need to go check their security system very soon... Though it was technically a day off for him, he seemed to never be able to rest his mind off from the job he knew he was responsible for. Work 8 hours a day, on call 24/7. That would best describe the man's current life schedule.
Giving off a small laugh at his shorter friend's following words concerning him being able to deliver the files next time in the case he was late picking them up again, Ren took the files in hand and quickly looked through the paperwork. "That would be great, but..." He muttered, satisfied with all the filled blanks needed so and putting the files in another envelope, then in his bag to be extra careful. "I rather come pick them up myself. If something happens to the files, I wouldn't want to have to blame anyone other than myself for the loss. Not to be rude or anything, of course, to you." He finished up and glanced over to the puppies once more, their innocent playful behavior making the rare smile come to his face.
"And if you don't mind giving me a little more service," He started, deciding to ask and see what Gupta can tell him was available. He could assume some animals were in the back as well, taking a break from the always staring humans. Animals too needed some privacy, after all. "Would you happen to have a German shepherd? A little older than these little guys... Maybe 4 or 5 months old? You see, I want a classic police dog... Not some random mutant serving its place, but the old school style dog. You know I have the money."
