touch me, it's so easy to leave me

Why he agreed to this in the first place was way beyond him.
For the good amount of time he spent with Antonio during their contract, Lovino spent the days inside the house and store, refusing to leave the place he learnt to call safe. He knew Antonio wouldn’t judge him in whatever form he was in, and when he wanted to be alone he could just climb onto the highest step on the cat tower originally bought for Churro, whom still couldn’t climb to the top. Antonio too seemed to leave him alone when he was up there, having possibly gotten the message clearly when he first hissed at him when he tried talking to him when he was comfortably relaxing.
As the days approached nearing the end of the contract, Lovino spent more and more time on that top step, not wanting to come down. All the times before, Lovino was desperate for the end of the contract, for the time spending with the human who bought him to end. This time however, he was feeling different, and he wasn’t sure how he was supposed to react to it. He didn’t want to go back to the Underground. For the first time, Lovino was enjoying the days of being under contract. Sure it came with some annoyances, such as having to wear the collar that fit snug around his neck and stretched when he shifted forms, which carried the tags he needed to wear, but that was easy to ignore when Antonio almost always had something new for Lovino to explore on his free will.
This morning however, Lovino was taken by surprise when he was spoken to while he was again laying on the cat tower comfortably in his feline form. Antonio never did that after the first try, why now…? When he was told they were going shopping, Lovino tried to argue back saying he could just stay home while Antonio went out, but the Spaniard insisted he come as well. After a bit of arguing back and forth (well, one complaining and one trying to sound convincing), Antonio finally managed to convince the feline to shift forms and wear a hoodie to leave the house together.
Keeping his ears flat on his head and the hoodie to cover them up, Lovino tried everything to hide he was a mutant. He pushed his tail into his pants, as uncomfortable as it was, and even tried to keep his best from having the tags chime as he walked. Him being a mutant of course was not a problem in the city, but Lovino couldn’t stand the stares people would give him for his appearance; unlike many lucky mutants, his appearance just outright screamed his flaws.
He had to go back to the underground the following day, so why was Antonio insisting on making this last day uncomfortable by dragging him outdoors…? Lovino couldn’t help but to send silent glares to his human’s way as he followed after him quietly, wincing each time he heard a noise he was unfamiliar with.
“…Where are we going?”
He finally decided to ask after they seemed to have been walking for a while, unable to help but to glance back the way they came from. “…Won’t we get lost?”
