| Maria Sanchez Plot Page 19 :: MUTANT DEVOTED :: PERSISTENT :: JUBILANT Once upon a time, Maria Itzel was very sweet and very open. She made friends easily (particularly if they were fans of futbol) and took care of them with her life. She’s not as jaded as she may seem with her tired appearance. She’s still very spirited and passionate, especially if she’s on the topic of things she loves. She’s romantic at heart and a little old fashioned. She hates the cold and violence, and is prone to shutting down or making a huge deal if confronted with it in a situation. She tends to meddle, but only if she’s really close to the person. Otherwise, she’ll turn on her heel and stay out of it. Ayyyyy Nowadays, it takes her a while to warm up to people. However, once she does, you’re basically guaranteed a friend for life (and, if you die in a very bitter way and can’t move on, possibly after!) Maria is very much a family oriented. Nothing - except, perhaps, faith! - comes before family. When she makes friends, she sees them as extended family. That probably means that she will Smother them to death. She doesn't often make friends with the people who buy her - she's too wary - but there have been occasions where they allow her to cook. In her gratitude, she leaves behind sweets and tries to smuggle some back with her. As for enemies, well, just hurt the people that she loves. That’ll put an end to your friendship really quick. Or, as she raised herself on the streets for a while, be violent and do drugs. There is nothing (save "spirits") that she can stand less than those traits. To do them means to chase her away, and Mexicans hold really long grudges. (Just ask a couple of them how they feel about the Mexican-American War...still.) She doesn't hold the fights against her fellow mutants against them for too long, although she's often bitter about them immediately afterwards. She was raised Catholic, and still fancies herself it, but has since learned that she is starved for affection. She grew up with an immensely close family and a lot of cousins. Since being shipped off, she has often felt lonely and without many companions. As such, she has learned to be take closeness and love from where she can by whoever offers it (after establishing trust, that is.) --- Thread - name Thread - name Thread - name Thread - name Thread - name Thread - name Thread - name Thread - name Thread - name Thread - name Thread - name Thread - name Thread - name Thread - name |

XD <3 Aww, but Gil seems so nice, in his own sort of way. Maria would definitely try to keep sight of him. She finds anyone from "outside" to be really fascinating. She wouldn't even mind being a little doll to be dressed up. She'd be used to it and would enjoy it, especially if Gil avoided touching her for long. She'd be so touched and grateful. She wouldn't even mind cooking for him all the time <3

Okay! Well I do love the idea of them meeting in the Underground and chatting. I'm sure she'll bring out his big brother side in no time, she's just so cute!

Aww! <3 Thank you! I tried a little bit to made her adorable so people would take pity. All the more if he's had one of those sticker books because she would know what it was immediately. Like, "Is Germany still in the cup? How's Mexico doing?" Probably not well, and she realizes that. Maria grew up in a giant family. She was an only child, but it never seemed that way with the amount of cousins that she had. I figure she's missing a big brother figure <3

Heyyyy I'm on hiatus and shouldn't be adding more threads but I'd love to plot something out with you with both Alfred and Elizaveta! The U.S. and Mexico have plenty of history and Liz is head guard in the Underground so that should be fun.

Leia~
Plotting is different than threading. <3 We can plot to our heart's content and not make a thread until you're off hiatus. I love USMX friendship. Although, let's be honest. If there wasn't a little arguing between them every once in a while, it would be a wasted opportunity. Elizaveta would probably like Maria. She doesn't struggle in the slightest. She just kinda goes with the flow. The only problem she would have is that she loathes to fight and tries really hard not to. She just kinda lets them whale on her and hopes that they don't get her face so she can get out of there ASAP.
Puchi~
Yeeeessss. Only if he lets her pet him, for realsies. <3 But, for real though, does Lovi understand Spanish? That would probably help establish some sort of immediate trust for him from the get go.

Lovi knows basic Spanish XD; not enough to hold a conversation; he was raised in an Italian speaking home as a young young child though so he might be able to pick up similar words here and there ^^;
She can pet him once he relaxes enough around her!! Because she's a girl, he will not go out offensively, just cautious in case the other way may happen ^^; but yes, they will open up to each other quickly enough I believe!

That's fine. Maria lapses into Spanish all the time when she's uncomfortable or overly excited. I imagine making a friend would be the latter. I wonder if she'd get memories if she played with his ears and tail? <3

That is true, that is true. XD And yessss, a friendship would be wonderful, with a couple of little spats in between. <33 Alfred's pretty flexible when it comes to meeting people, though that may be a little complicated with what's happening with Ren recently. I'm sure we can figure something out though.
As for Liz...she'll definitely like the fact that Maria is nice and cooperative. XD Be a little disappointed that she won't fight back and might give some pointers if she feels Maria's getting beat up too often. Then again, Maria's power isn't the most conducive to fighting. But we can definitely work out a thread there in the future.

If she were to be perfectly honest, Maria's always been jealous of Americans. She's got in in her head that they've had a great childhood. A bed of their own, food, school and cops that try to do good and aren't just completely bribed like the ones there. I imagine, when she finds out that he's American she's going to be really excited and ask him a lot of questions about America and not necessarily himself. <3 I imagine, though (if I read his app right!) that he's definitely going to want to avoid contact with her if he wanted to avoid questions about his past. Because, even though she tries not to interfere sometimes and stick her nose in other people's business, the memories don't really go away until she does. She'll just see them around whenever Alfred is around her.
As for Liz, weeellllllllll...the problem with Maria not wanting to fight is exactly her powers. She hates seeing the images. She thinks they're ghosts (even though they're not~). So, she feels haunted, and they don't go away unless she and the person deal with them. That's why she doesn't like to fight back because it prolongs the contact. Other than that, she's pretty much the epitome of a perfect mutant...as far as obeying goes. She's clean and doesn't make messes, she listens and doesn't fight back. Literally, it's the fighting and the maybe lapsing into Spanish or talking to Santa Muerte or other memories if they're around her that might get her in trouble. But, she'd appreciate the pointers, especially by someone as high up as Liz.
Puchi, if that were true, then he would absolutely become Maria's favorite. She would be able to hug him and hold his hand (in a sisterly/cousinly kind of way) and not have to worry about seeing crazy people every which way. <3!!!

Aw, Maria bby. Alfred might be open to questions about America...just not specifically about his childhood in America so as long as Maria doesn't tread that fine line she should be fine. |D Mm, no, I highly doubt that Alfred will particularly enjoy having his memories probed into the way Maria does. Probably scare him more than questions since he can sort of deal with questions. And if mentions that those memories take the form of ghosts (even if they're not actual ghosts), Alfred might just be downright terrified. Especially if she finds a few memories that he'd really prefer just fade away and stay that way. Which memories does Maria pick up on in particular?
Makes sense, makes sense. But overall Liz will probably like Maria since she doesn't cause much ruckus other than appear a little crazy from time to time. XD No, Liz can definitely drop by and give her some pointers or Maria can come to Liz's office or something along those lines.

Leia -> It will probably be really weird questions. Like, "Have you been to Kansas? Is it pretty there?" Or some other random state. Like Nebraska or Ohio or Utah or California. She just wants to know everything she can. She got taken away from the Americas at 14, so she's been starved for information from that side of the world. Anyway, definitely not. She doesn't want to know. She just sort of does. It fails because she is so starved for affection. She just wants to be hugged and loved. Someone should get her gloves so she can hold someone's hands. She likes holding hands. >.> Mostly it's the strongest memory. I assume when she gets more control of it - if she ever actually tries to control it because she's pretty petrified of the 'ghosts' herself - it'll be any little thing, maybe. As it is, the longer you hold on to her, the more specific the memory will be. If he just shakes hands with her, it could be the smallest little thing that would go away no problem. But, say that he's been touching part of her skin for like...a solid minute or more, then it will be the one that recalls the strongest feeling from him.
Yaay. <3 It might be a little childish or totally childish, but Maria loves when people like her. It's probably not a good thing that she's as submissive as she is, but she grew up in such a loving environment that she literally can't even. Maybe it's a little braggy, but her family was the bomb dot com. They were so close, and family is such a big thing for her. That's also part of the reasons she can't fight the other mutants. She's come to regard them all as family. You can't hurt family! She'd be more than a little like, "Whaaa?" once she learned that Liz doesn't have the same relationship with /her/ mom.
