Leading Rails august 25th Weather; Rainy TAGS | At 2:07 AM this morning, there was a massive breakout from the Underground. Around 50 mutants managed to escape the Underground; currently the Underground has not released an official number. “The source of the breakout was a faulty pipe,” Aleksander Azarova, a senior guard in the Underground, said. “Judging from security footage, the pipe managed to flood a small section of the Underground and released one of the mutants. This mutant proceeded to unlock the doors of several other mutants. By the time the guards arrived on scene, most of the mutants in Block D had fled.” Elizaveta Héderváry arrived on scene shortly after the guards discovered the breakout and managed to secure several mutants. The police were immediately informed of the incident and given detailed information and details about the accident and the escaped mutants. Police officer Ren Kondou was put in charge of the investigation. The Japanese man will be issuing flyers detailing the mutants that have escaped. “This is a critical situation,” Kondou stated. “Time is absolutely of the essence. We are asking people to remain calm and phone the police if they are at all able to identify any of the escaped mutants. Most likely, these mutants will be heading away from the city to evade capture. However, these are dangerous creatures that may be roaming our streets. We are telling our citizens to take extra precautions to ensure the safety of all.” Ms. Héderváry declined to comment on the situation. “We are doing our best,” Azarova stated, “to identify and capture all of the escapees as quickly as possible. I can assure you that Miss Héderváry is working around the clock to make sure that this incident is resolved as quickly and smoothly as possible.” This event casts doubt on the security of the Underground. Although an inspection recently occurred, there appear to still be problems remaining within the infrastructure. Citizens have called into question the actions of the government and whether or not they have truly kept security as tightly as they promise. “It's utter blasphemy,” one man, who refused to give his name, spat. “The government shouldn't even have placed the Underground so close to the city. It's a security threat not just to everyone in Archadia but the whole world.” “The government has always been supplying ample funds to the Underground,” Mr. Nikolay Koskov, a spokesperson for the Governor, said. “This is an unfortunate occurrence, but it will shortly be resolved. The infrastructure of the Underground will be reexamined and the council will come to an appropriate decision in regards to how future situations like this should be managed. For now, we have equipped Miss Héderváry and the Archadia police with the appropriate equipment and personnel to secure the mutants. For now, we advise all citizens to remain calm and to call the police if they sight any suspicious activity.” |
