Word Count: 467 Notes: FINALLY PUT IT UP EEEH | A minute head tilt from Kylan followed a specific phrase of the Swede’s. Maybe that little extra is all you get… Was that something self-deprecating, perhaps? It wasn’t quite enough to go on for Kylan to be able to say one way or the other. It’d be best to let it pass for now, although he would pay more attention for anything at all similar in further conversations with the towering twelve year old. Gods knew he’d met his fair share of varying personalities and their takes on their powers – their mutant status sometimes a complete separate matter entirely. He only found himself hoping it wasn’t something too entirely close to full on self loathing. Which was a bit odd since he’d only just met Berwald, but alas, there it was. The train of thought was broken when a bell rang. Kylan automatically looked up in the direction of the sound – a sound box connected to the school wide announcement system. There was no need to glance at Berwald’s watch or his own if he’d had one. Spending enough time at Weeds, one quickly enough became accustomed to the schedule of things. It was lunch time. Based on the day of the week it was probably going to be soup and bread. Although there were occasionally breaks in the usual order of meal types. As soon as Berwald began to speak once more Kylan turned his gaze back on him. Again he quirked a brow – this time at the timidity Berwald had returned to after being so open just moments prior. He supposed he had apologized for that. So it was out of the ordinary for the taciturn youth to speak – not so much out of turn as much. Kylan simply shook his head in response. Then realized it would be best for him to say it in words else Berwald mistake it as his answer to the invitation for lunch. “ Don’t apologize. You’re not boring or annoying about it – if you were I would have left already.” Would he? Would even Kylan up and leave a new student to fend for themselves if they became too annoying? Sounded likely if they gave him enough of a headache. “ You really do act like a mouse in a bear’s body. I’ll eat with you today. Maybe next time I can introduce you to who I usually eat with – if they’re around.” Granted he did have separate groups that he ate with depending on the schedule or mood for the day, but he figured Berwald could probably find his way with either group should they be introduced. But baby steps for now. As he began to walk back towards the cafeteria he started on another course of conversation he had passed over. “ What sorts of books did you bring?” there is a cemetery of words buried beneath your tongue |

Gatan ligger öde och världen håller andan.
Knowing he shouldn't be such a coward, he really shouldn't, he kept telling himself again and again repeatedly in his head. But when one had been accused for being strange, weird, for the powers he had, and now suddenly accepted and brought to face others with the same mutation as himself? He had never really been a good speaker anyway, his height, eyes, and mostly his intimidating aura could scare just about anyone away. Except animals, they seemed to like him a lot of times, at least they were good enough.
First, he was about to get disappointed when Kylan shook his head, and he felt a wave of disappointment wash over him, which was only visible if you looked into his eyes, his normal face didn't exactly change to these emotions, even if it was hard to read in his eyes as well. But hid disappointment was only short, when the other actually did speak up yet again, and told him what was on his mind, which really set him in a better mood, and the disappointment disappeared, maybe not completely as he was still vary the other might just say so to be nice, even if he had told him that he wasn't that kind of a person. "Yes." He could only reply to that, to show that he had been listening, and he did nod too, to show that he understood him.
Kylan was honest and straight-forward, Berwald was a coward, one who'd rather go around the subject instead of facing it, if he knew he would be at loss.
"Sorry, I will try to become better." And then he realised that he still went back to his old habit, eyes getting bigger and he looked down, a bit ashamed over himself and how he really was acting. His mother usually told him that he should have been short instead to match his personality, and should become a bit more firm on his points, or else he would get taken advantage of.
Why didn't he listen more to his mum.
Perking up when the other mentioned that he could sit with him during lunch, and even introduce him to his friend, and he nodded, more eager this time. He wanted to get to know people after all, get friends, he wasn't too happy about being alone after all. "Thank you." And gave him a short nod, and began to walk with him towards the cafeteria instead. Hoping the food would be good, and was kinda looking forward to it.
"A little bit of everything, my bag was mostly filled with books." He knew some of them had been taken, why he didn't know. "Some crime, thriller, mythology, fantasy, educational books." Shrugging. "Just come by one day and look at them, I don't remember all the titles, as I just.. Put them down in my bag, it's hard to pack when you barely know where you are going."
Holding up the door for Kylan to walk inside before him, tailing after him towards said cafeteria, where kids had began to fill in, but not as much as he guessed it would be. So taking a tray and standing in line, looking over where the food was. Some pasta-mix. It looked edible at least. "Is the food good?"
