He's the meanest little kitty...
Lovino couldn't help but to tilt his head slightly to the side when he saw the girl shake her head at his question. For a moment he debated on pressing on to the question, but hearing that it was better than the cells in the underground, he let out a soft sigh. Of course it was better than the underground cells. Anywhere was. Her babbling about what was better or worse in this case, comparing the room she tried to explain about and the cell Lovino bet she knew nothing about (though she did indeed say she visited it, but a few hours in the cell shouldn't have taught her the real horrors of abuse that went on down there), that Lovino found himself only halfheartedly listening. His interest was more in now how she moved across the carpet and reached for the window.
When the window opened, Lovino had to hold back the urge to jump up and claw his way through the thin screen that separated him from the freedom outside. It wasn't hard to do, seeing as he was thinking of it he heard the girl speak that he was now in her name, which made him flatten his ears slightly, focusing on the tags on the scrunchy fabric the girl held onto. It was as if she was waiting for a chance to finally slip them on her new pet, an excited toddler who wanted to dress up her new toy. That's right... He was just property, wasn't he? Sniffling the fresh air to enjoy the break from the assault to his nose, Lovino's ears twitched when the girl spoke again with a sigh.
“I could get in trouble, yes. In fact, I know I probably will. If he catches me, anyway.”
The smile on the girl's face had Lovino staring at it, looking for hints of trust he could put into the girl. He listened to the risks of being caught all in itself, hearing it would most likely lead to him being brought back to the underground. The idea of being brought back to the mutant abuse pound was enough to make Lovino hesitate, and he found himself swaying in the choices available.
“I would much rather have your experience here be… pleasurable? Acceptable? Comfortable? I don’t know how to make that happened. No one’s been entrusted to me before.”
...Hah, so he was her first pet. No wonder she was bold and daring with her decisions and ideas. The fact she so easily opened the passage for escape for him was enough to prove that true. If anything, one should've slipped the tags on him before trusting a mutant with an opened window, when he clearly had been acting up and wanting to escape to gain his own freedom.
Or was it that she really trusted him that much, right off the bat?
If so, Lovino couldn't find it in him to deny immediate trust given to him.
“You’re right. It’s a dumb idea. I’m sorry I even suggested it. Never mind.”
The words made Lovino shake his head and hop onto the bed, putting a paw on the girl's lap again. No, no... Don't back down now. If she was going to make his life easy, and the only circumstance of being caught was to be sent back... Then he was going to take it.
Might as well enjoy his time out when he could.
"...My owner isn't your father," He said, pushing his head against the girl's arm as he did so, "If you want to make my life hard or easy for your own benefit, then I have no say, now do I?"
